I’ve been ‘Flickr Friends’ with The White House for some time now and browsing today, for a split second, this photo caught me slightly off guard -  George Clooney?! WTF?!  (until I remembered that Dr. Ross went off and used his artistic clout to discuss the current situation in Sudan with President Obama).  I’m fascinated by this photo stream, partly because in a past life I embarked on a very short lived career in politics but also because it gives a candid and voyeuristic look behind the scenes of the US Presidency. Despite the fact that it is (obviously) US based and US focussed what happens out of Washington almost always impacts the rest of the world in some way. Pete Souza presents a nice mix of professional and personal shots as the official WH photographer. Of course it’s pr-O-bama, but hey it’s a hell of a lot better than a Tea Party, and is a welcome break from browsing coffee photos.
